DeBeers in Class Action All by Itself

If you are one of those people who spend large amounts of money for one of the most common elements on earth (carbon), then you are in luck. According to a lawsuit brought against DeBeers, all persons located in the United States who purchased any diamond or diamond jewelry or other products containing gem diamonds for personal use between January 1, 1994 and March 31, 2006 may be eligible for a piece of a class action lawsuit. This action contests that DeBeers conspired to monopolize the diamond industry by fixing and controlling diamond prices by issuing false and misleading advertising. Someone who purchased a $4,000 dollar ring, for example, may be eligible to receive around $750.00 dollars back. Assuming you purchased several diamonds as gifts or for personal vanity (rings, earrings, diamond-studded watches, etc), you can file a claim for each separate purchase you have made.
